Peace Vigil # 12, April 10, 2007

Please excuse me again as I did not make this twelfth Peace Vigil. Mrs. Spadoman was also absent, the first she has missed, the second for me. We are doing some traveling and are in sunny Southern California. We will be on the road tomorrow, 04/11/07, and headed for Wisconsin.

There was a Vigil in Ashland, though. As reported to me by my daughter, Alyssa, over the cell phone network, 17 hearty souls were on the corner, carrying signs and asking for peace and an end to war. A testimony to the community. I am sorry I missed the vigil, but am damn proud of the folks that stood there in 35 degree, unseasonably cool, weather.

While traveling, we had the pleasure of meeting another who works for peace very hard here in California, Bluegrrrrl, of "Out of the Blue" blog fame. We had coffee today and met eyeball to eyeball for the first time. It was a pleasure and an honor for both myself and Mrs. Spadoman to meet a fellow peacenik.

This is a short post, I know. Please forgive the brevity. I will update on issues of peace when I return to my regular habitat on the shore of the Great Lake Superior. In the meantime, thanks for all you who stood for peace today in Ashland, and those of you who work for peace everyday.
